The action takes place in one of the Japanese settlements.Grandfather and grandmother have no children. One day, a grandmother found a little girl in a golden melon that was floating in a river. Delighted grandmother and grandfather raised a beautiful Uriko, who became a kind, intelligent needlewoman. But the evil spirit Amadzyako stole Uriko and took the girl to the mountains. Uriko’s friends — a rooster, a crow, and pigeons — helped grandfather and grandmother save her from an evil spirit.
Since then, Amadziako turned into an echo, which could no longer do evil to anyone, but only soared in the mountains and mimicked everyone.
The play fosters a sense of kindness, respect for elders and respect for nature in children.
The main idea of the play: “Do not get tired of doing good deeds, good will come back to you”.
